The Lycoming College Art Department will hold its annual Senior Art Show April 3-May 4 in the college’s Art Gallery in Snowden Library. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4. The reception and gallery viewing are free and open to the public.
The competitive exhibition showcases the best work of the graduating seniors. Senior studio art majors are required to create a cohesive body of work with a professional artist statement as their senior thesis and submit the work to an outside juror, who selects the work for the senior exhibition. The show was juried by Annu Palakunnathu Matthew, whose exhibit “Between Cultures” was featured from Feb. 20-March 27 in the Art Gallery. Matthew is professor of photography and director of the Center for the Humanities at the University of Rhode Island. She is represented by SepiaEYE, New York City, and the Tasveer Gallery, India.
