Lycoming College Career Services will hold a sale for Ten Thousand Villages, a group that promotes fair trade by helping disadvantaged artisans sell their goods. The sale will be open to the campus community Nov. 4-22 and to the public Nov. 8, 15 and 22 from noon until 4 p.m. on the third floor of the Wertz Student Center.
The event is held in conjunction with International Education Month, which is celebrated by colleges and universities each year in November. Career Services will collaborate with the Multicultural Awareness Group to promote and encourage international education by acknowledging the types of cross-cultural learning experiences students have had abroad and in America throughout the month.
Three special events will be held as a part of the educational activities, including the International Dinner Monday, Nov. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria; the International Dance Night Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Burchfield Lounge, Wertz Student Center; and the International Expo Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. in Pennington Lounge, Academic Center. The dinner will feature Vietnamese caramelized salty pork and Indian chicken curry. The dance night will include Latin American salsa and belly dancing lessons. The expo is a festival of cultural exhibits, entertainment and refreshments.
