Lycoming College students are pleased to offer their annual juried art show from Dec. 2 to Feb. 18 at the Lycoming College Art Gallery. An artists’ reception will be held Dec. 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m. The show and reception are free and open to the public.
This year’s show, titled “Impending Future,” depicts the uncertainties posed by questions surrounding social, economic, political and environmental changes that affect not only the future of American society, but the world as well. With the exhibition, the curatorial team at Lycoming College chose works that create a challenging and thoughtful dialogue about different interpretations of the future.
The show is the College’s second national juried exhibition and features 26 artists from all over the United States, including Heather Ramsdale, Dan Wolf, Andrew Glenn, Sahn Tran, Clare Benson, Bart Vargas, Whitney Sage, Cassandra Klos, Martina Shenal, Pete Burkeet, Noah, Gelfman, Zaren Badar, Shona Macdonald, Cynthia Myron, Curtis Bartone, Jane Zich, Niko Kallianiotis, Abbey Hepner, Greg McLemore, Jimmy Capalbo, Jeff Schmuki, Kristen Woodward, Jayson Bimber, Coalfather Industries, Phillip Hanson and Anne Chesnut.
The works were selected from more than 300 submissions by nearly 100 artists. The exhibition is juried by Lycoming College’s Curatorial Methods class, taught by Seth Goodman, assistant professor of art. The curatorial team included the following students:
Emily Wickizer
Joe Troxler
