Lycoming College professor earns Young Leaders Award from industry group

Heather Demshock, an assistant professor of accounting at Lycoming College who resides in Williamsport, Pa., has been selected as a recipient of the 2016 Young Leaders Awards by the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.

The Young Leader Awards recognize members under the age of 40 who demonstrate a commitment to the accounting profession through active participation with the organization or community volunteer activities. Firms, colleagues, fellow members and committee participants submit nominations.

Demshock is among 39 other winners who were selected from more than 330 eligible candidates and who will be honored at the organization’s leadership conference in Hershey this September.

Demshock holds a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University and a master’s degree from Liberty University. She is a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs is composed of more than 22,000 members and is dedicated to preserving the legacy and integrity of the accounting profession. Membership with the PICPA represents commitment to the profession, including adherence to the code of professional conduct and to a stringent set of professional and technical standards.
